On an unseasonably hot afternoon in Grand Rapids, the West Ottawa Men's Cross-Country Team took third place in the OK Red Conference finals which is their highest finish in the conference in 16 years. Not only did the team finish better in the conference than they have since 2010, but, for the first time in 30 years, they had 4 runners in the "ALL-CONFERENCE" and "ALL-CONFERENCE Honorable Mention places. As he has done the entire season, school record holder, sophomore Max Post led the way with a 9th place finish in 16:10. He was joined in the all-conference medals by senior co-captain Boston Wilkinson who place 11th overall with a time of 16:22. Junior co-captain Brody Mulder raced to an all-conference honorable mention by finishing in 13th place with a personal record time of 16:28 which is good enough to be the 22nd fastest 5k in school history. Fantastic freshman runner, Silas Pinney also earned an all-conference honorable mention award by placing 17th with a time of 16:39. Senior co-captain Sebastian Ruiz (24th, 16:58) combined with sophomores Henry Frederick (32nd, 17:26) and Miles Koch (33rd, 17:26) to round out the top 7 for West Ottawa. These 7 young men will head to the Division 1 State Regional Race held in Portage on October 30 for a chance to earn a trip to the STATE FINALS in November.
